Regarding Sid: Kids reprogram our methods for their needs. It is an amazing biological hard wiring we all share. Bringing him on tour kept you and Stacy close to him. The benefits of that are immeasurable. I sacrificed a lot to be with my son when he was between 6 months and 3 years old. I don’t regret it at all. This time will never return. Sid will only be this little for so long. I know you are soaking it all up. The days are long but the years are short! Keep on keepin’ on, Mama bear!

I Bet It Stung and On Directing are two of my favorites. Thank you for playing them on the tour this year!

I would classify Bet it Stung and On Directing as fan favorites too. I hope for next tour some HIJLY songs can be added, there's too many great ones on that album like I Know I'm Not The Only One or You Go Away and I Don't Mind (and many more). It's sad that we didn't get to hear a live version of many of those songs and that you didn't get to perform most of the album to the fans for reasons we all know.

Would also love to hear songs like BWU (my favorite from LY2D), Downtown (dreaming about this one) and some deep cut like Night Watch.

Sid is already more well travelled than me. So nice to read that he took so well to the life of a touring musician, what a little rockstar!

Sara I have a question, Sid dressed as a raccoon for Halloween, did you end up dressing as pest control?

Me again .... had to say that last week I did an assembly with my class of 10 Yr old (yes, I'm a teacher!) It was on teamwork so obviously we sang 'Everything is Awesome!' - most knew it anyway from the Lego Movie.

They asked how I knew it and I told them it was sung by my favourite band. Since then, a number of other Tegan and Sara fans have come and spoken to me. Amazing! x

Disappointed not to be able to attend any of the Crybaby shows but loving the posts and following it all the way! Thank you both for sharing so many comments and photos x

Still hoping for some UK dates next year?

Do you have any plans to stream a show?

Hey Sara,

So cool that you’re doing these Q&A questions on substack too! As I’ve said on most of the other vip Q&A substack posts, I think it’s really great the way you both go the extra mile for your fans, like doing zooms with substack people, picking up lost questions, etc. you two are amazing!

I too am someone who watches a lot of tv and am interested in how things work. I love watching behind the scenes stuff for tv shows and films. Are we going to get BTS stuff, like bloopers for example?

Also, this is a broader question about the show but is there a reason why they didn’t want the word ‘f*ck’ if there was going to be drug use in the show anyway?

I will keep asking this question, (⬇️ That one, not the one above), until I get an answer from someone. I have a very annoying friend (who won’t stop asking me to ask).

This question is more related to touring than T&S the band. Are therapy dogs allowed at your shows? A friend of mine would love to come to a show (if you get to Aus) but can’t make it if therapy dogs aren’t allowed. Please let me know.

And (last question), who’s looking after Holiday and Mickey while you and Stacy are gone? (A friend?)

Anyway, thanks for the post Sara! Glad Sid’s doing well being on tour! Hope everything’s ok with him in general too and that everyone on the tour’s doing well!

Aw a really nice touch of you to still answer the VIP questions for Toronto. I love On Directing, so as much as I can’t go to this tour it’s great to see it on the set list. It’s been so cool, seeing all the photos and videos of you both back on stage. I can’t believe the tour is almost over, I’m glad that Sid has adapted so well to tour life so quickly. I wonder where he gets it from? 😊 I hope you enjoy these last three dates Sara, and then enjoy a long rest. You’ve both so earned it.

I really, really wish I had been a fan of yours from the beginning. I feel like I missed out on an incredible journey. I am in full catch-up mode but it just isn’t the same.

I've been listening to the setlist songs a ton and I really really like the choices. Some of my absolute favorites are on there, like "boyfriend" , "I can't grow up" and of course "back in your head". I love that there's really old stuff on there, and stuff from crybaby too. I think it's super cool that you're bringing sid on tour- plus it'll be a great story he can tell when he's older.

On Directing was my favorite moment of the night! Thank you so much for including it. "Sainthood" is such a deeply personal and special album to me - I clung to it almost like a mantra during a very difficult time of my life. It provides me endless support and really helped me get through that time. I am so grateful for that album - and I know sometimes it seems like it's a difficult one to discuss in interviews or such, but it meant so, so, so much to me. I love it so much. <3

I will say again: Sara, “on that Bass” Guitar, is absolutely amazing to see. You are such an eclectic musician, and you owned that bass. It was beautiful to hear and see. The songs you and Tegan played on this tour were all favorites and I could always here the crowd singing along. All I could do was smile, of course, but my spouse and I really missed your live sound and the energy you both brought to Ventura and San Diego. I’ll never forget it. So happy to know Sid is a road warrior with his family! Wishing you all continued health and success.

I was definitely heartbroken, as I know many other fans were but I am also grateful that you and Tegan were not seriously ill and that Sid didn’t get sick (at least I hope he didn’t). See you next year!

Damn, I'm kinda divided on this. I would've loved to get to the show if I'd known about it earlier. Yet because you weren't able to make it, I didn't miss anything. Not sure how to feel about that.
