People seem interested to know more about our experience on stage. I got a lot of questions about our in-ear mix! And they’re intrigued by what we hear on stage! Maybe you should write something about this topic too? We listen to completely different things and have different approaches on stage.

Hello from the road!!!
As promised, here’s a little post about our in-ear monitors and what we listen to and play along to on stage!
First! What are in-ear monitors!?
According to this Wikipedia post in-ear monitors, “are devices used by musicians, audio engineers and audiophiles to listen to music or to hear a personal mix of vocals and stage instrumentation for live performance or recording studio mixing.”
When did we start using them!?
Well, Sara started using them back in 2004 during the So Jealous record cycle. I tried but hated them too much. (More on that below.) Plus, back then we didn’t always have a monitor engineer on tour with us. This is the person who sits side stage and does sound for us so we can hear what we are doing. So, we didn’t start consistently using in-ears as a band until 2012.
Why 2012!?
In 2012, when we released Heartthrob, I had to start using in-ears.
