I loved Junior High! I was the one wearing the purple t-shirt in your audience in Montreal. Thanks for noticing -- it made my night!! 😊 I spent the past year working as a mental health counselor for adolescents, and Tillie's drawing of your anxious little faces on that shirt reminds me of my sweet, jittery clients. (One of whom is off to LGBTQ+ camp this summer, thanks in part to financial support from the T&S Foundation -- you guys rock!!! 🙌)

I brought my librarian friends to the book tour, and we had a great time. Can't wait for the audiobook! You've already answered most of the questions I had, but here's one I can't stop thinking about: Where is Bruce's guitar these days? Does one of you (or him) still have it?

Thanks for typing all these up ☺️

Am I correct in saying that if we bought a ticket but couldn’t make the event then we would get a recording of it so we can watch it after? I haven’t had anything sent over since and no links so I can watch it? x

I love that you answered the questions on the substack. I think the graphic novel is a good... gateway to Tegan and Sara. Like some unsuspecting 12 year old will read it , google you and fall in love with your music. I already have a copy but I was at the bookstore the other day and it was on display!! Also apparently my mom follows you guys now and she likes to discuss a lot of the posts y'all make. She was like "did you see Tegan and Sara's father's day post?, It was cute".

Tegan, you are true to your word. As busy as you are, you answered these questions. I can’t speak for everyone but for me, whether you answer me directly or not, I feel taken care of and heard. Thank you!

Hey Tegan (and Sara, possibly?),

Hope the tours going well. I’m guessing that’s why no voice recording of the post?

I’m going to try and keep this comment short as it’s past 2am here 😬.

Very excited for a possible cruise, seriously considering getting a job to start saving! I have so many questions for when it becomes something more than a cool idea!

I’m so excited to read Junior high! When I was 12 was when I first figured out I was LGBT+ (not the right label) but it was a not so great time for me, I’m interested to see some you your/T&S’s time there and seeing young T&S/you in a modern world. When I read high school I really wanted the young T&S (15 year olds) to be in my time and country and school so we could be friends, I think we would have been but we would’ve disagreed about drugs 😂.

All the hate speech for LGBT+ folks going on in the media is shitty, especially the stuff going on for trans folks like myself, there’s a lot of hate. What ever happened to the good old saying ‘if you don’t have something nice to say then keep your fucking mouth shut’ maybe it wasn’t quite that 😁. You get the sentiment though.

For the record I agree with free speech I just think that some people don’t need to speak quiet as much as they do, and they need to stop confusing ‘free speech’ for ‘free of consequence’, say whatever you want but don’t be surprised when you get backlash for saying something hateful. There’s my little rant!

Love the epic new merch drop!

Thanks for posting! Night!

I finished reading it yesterday in my new summer lounge chair with my iced coffee. Then I took a moment, as adult me, to think about what an impact this book would have had on a younger version of me. I know the adult me cheered when Sara told Avery off, something I wish I had done in those days of toxic friendships. I'm glad my kids will get to read it and live in a different world than I did(even if everything is falling apart.)

Thanks for answering Tegan, thanks for answering mine and everyone’s questions. Some great questions and great answers! 😊

My Junior High T-shirt with the halloween picture on arrived the other day. I love it, it really is a sweet and funny picture from that time. Hoping if I save enough, I can get the purple illustration one too! 🤞🏼

Love this as ever, thank you again.

The answer to Michael Lee Gardin's question is very important and speaks directly and clearly to the issue (and especially as it relates to art and literature). It is a quote worth saving and a statement worth making.

Great questions! Sadly I couldn’t post a question during the event. For some reason it wouldn’t let me. 😭

Thank you for answering, Tegan!

And here's today's everyone's most burning question - how's teleprompter life treating you?!

Also - are you considering translating Junior High to additional languages?

I'm home in Israel for a few weeks and was really toying with the idea of translating it to Hebrew. I'm a certified translator and was still like, "how the fuck do you translate 'got a loonie for me?'" (The answer is - loonie probably stays loonie!)

Dad wants us to maybe travel to the Candian Rockies next summer and he was like, "I'd probably want to visit Calgary, too."

And in my mind I thought "Calgary better have a Tegan & Sara tour just like Liverpool has a Beatles tour." And I know you're busy with planning a cruise, but I think you should let one of your high school friends out together a T&S tour. I really think there's something there :D

P.S. - reading the answers and what you said about being shy about your body, I think it's clear that performing in shorts is a major breakthrough. Kudos, I say. You earned that extra breeze!

P.P.S - I'm gonna guess the last time you guys hugged was when you filmed the video for White Knuckles 😂

Thanks for answering all these questions 🧡🧡 love junior high! Reading it led me to dig through all my old school photos. Woah, what a trip. Hope to catch a book tour event in person next time around, if you all are able to do something similar for book two. Rosie is on her fourth read through of junior high 📚
