All the things behind we don't know. I'm always think on what else the people I like/follow or admire, struggle with, sharing their life, investing in tools etc. Most people don't care about nothing but the final product" and maybe its normal but all the process its important. (as designer/video maker I know every tool cost) Tnx For sharing Sara please take care.
Thanks for posting! Oh god! I was picturing the smell as you read it to me. My autism makes me very smell sensitive, (that’s context). When I was around 10 my family was staying in a house in New South Wales visiting my aunt and cousins (it wasn’t as air b&b but that kind of thing where you find someone online to loan you a house for a few weeks). Anyway, there were mice living there. I was horrified when I realised, I am not a neat traveler and had all my stuff on the ground, but luckily I discovered the mice only on the second day, went through my entire bag (nothing thank god) and then put all my stuff on the extra bed in my room. So glad I didn’t know about that virus thing, I am very germ conscious (though I wasn’t as much back then). Anyway, when we did find their nest… well, I won’t give you the details (not even sure it was a nest per-say but where they’d been temporarily living). I’ll never forget that smell. It will always haunt me. Needless to say we’ve never been back to that house.
Sorry you had to deal with mice too, Sara. I can imagine that would be especially difficult for you because you like your spaces to be so clean and organised (as you’ve previously mentioned).
My dog, (who doubles as my assistance dog) is hilarious, he’s never seen a mouse but whenever there’s a bug he’ll show me where it is so I can get rid of it. He’s like ‘look, it’s right there. Aren’t I smart?’ And he is, half the time they’re on the floor and I would’ve missed them. Just made me think of your cats and how they’d make sure you don’t have any mice at all, then made me think of my boy, if you’re wondering about how I got to that story.
Thanks for sharing Sara.

PS: Sara, I think it’s hilarious that they didn’t realise it was your face on the cardboard cutout, especially given that (to the untrained eye) there was essentially two of your face. lol!
Holy hell, so sorry about the mice 😵💫 but it had to be done! Personally I love organizing and sorting things out, put me in a space with Tegan and Sara paraphernalia to sort and I'm entertained forever! But time and energy are definitely key lol, good luck 💚
Must feel great to have that task done and be able to safely house the archive in your new office space. So incredibly relatable. Currently going through everything in storage/garage. Thankfully no rodent nests were found…this time
After 20+ years, I finally decided I didn't need to keep all of my grad school notes and papers. Like, what did I think I was ever going to do with them? Re-read them and be smart again? ☺
Fwiw, while I've nothing to add to the old card catalog of memories, I fully appreciated this post. It felt like a parallel process to so much of my life right now. ...minus a cardboard cutout or two.
Run run run run run awaaayyyy 🐭💩
I couldn’t help but be amused by this post. Masks are probably always a good practice in any stagnant space. Take care Sara.
Is all of this just to say that you have a new studio?
I think that it is :)
I love this post with all my heart.

LOVE T&S forever

This could have been titled "Thoughts of a Virgo."
I 100% agree that mice are a nightmare to deal with.

Sara… take 2 shots of tequila before going in the rat chasing hole…

I still have a bunch of newspaper clippings in a box that I've moved across the country three times.
This post answered my question of "Did Tegan or Sara ever had to deal with mouse droppings in their homes? And if they did, how'd they deal with it?"😃
I'm glad you didn't get cabin rat disease
