Omg even though I'm so ready for an AI to clean up my digital libraries, I must admit those flashbacks when you unexpectedly come across forgotten photos are nice. My long distance best friend of 18 years revels in nostalgia when she tells stories about our old days working together at a terrible pizza place, while I'm staring blankly on as a first time listener. (Your fear of Alzheimers, yes, I GET IT.) Too ofen I rely on visual proof that I have actually lived experiences. Idk if its problems with storing or recall, I can't remember.

Unrelated....there's a stop motion Barbie drama set to How Come You Don't Want Me and Closer on YouTube. Pretty sure Closer was depicting your Canada Day story🤭.

❤️ your stories! Keep em' comin!

I can't remember the last time I went through my photos on my phone 😭 I usually upload them to dropbox and never look back lmao. I'm pretty sure I have more videos than photos considering how much I edit aha. Thank you for sharing these photos, Tegan! Maybe I should finally go through my photos soon.

i also relate to having my sister get me a job at a coffee shop. i have to preface this by saying my sister and i are twins. my sister worked at starbucks and that store was in desperate need of more employees. the manager at the time knew my sister had a twin (me) and she really liked my sister as an employee. the manager asked my sister to get me to apply because they needed more people like my sister. well as luck had it i was unemployed at the time since i worked in an aquarium and the pandemic just started so no guests=no job. i needed the job so i applied and ended up working for starbucks for 2.5 years. honestly i find it funny that the manager wanted to hire me because my sister and i are twins so she assumed we were similar. not surprisingly, we are very different people. polar opposites. one of us being born a male would be the only thing that could make us any more different. gotta love twin stereotypes

This is great, and I totally relate. I think we all do!

Thank you for sharing these Tegan! So many memories, lovely to see. 😊

PS loved the Mickey one, and sweet young Georgia.

You know, I could have sworn you were a definite cat person, Tegan. I blame the Portland animal adoption interview you and Sara had some time back. In it, you were both handed kittens and you both started playing with them, until you started walking around chasing and playing with the kittens while Sara was continuing the interview. 😂 Of course, I thought back to the podcast and thought: Tegan, you know you love cats, too! Only crazy cat ladies chase after cats during interviews! 😂 😉

Final question, favorite song so far to play on the crybaby tour?!??? Can't wait till October 3.

Love these! We do this every now and then. Then we send the photos to each other. Some of mine were screenshots of late night autocorrect conversations with a half asleep Charlie. Some of them are hilarious and still make me laugh to this day! 😂😂

Oh I love picking like every 10th photo to remember when. I am extremely sentimental. Whether it’s my pets, friends, family. I love the memories.

I like thinking where I was in life. How life has changed. People change or leave.

I especially like looking at photos from my childhood. For some reason, I can remember everything. Even little details from 10yo+ but before 10 YO, I only can remember bits and pieces. I didn’t have a horrible childhood whatsoever. I don’t know if it’s because my grandpa who had MS, and was my best friend died when I was 9 after my mom took me to school so I blocked it out so I wouldn’t remember a sad time. He taught me my states & capitals, Presidents and years in office, card game War, and of course he taught 52 Card Pickup ( which I learned after the first time 🤣). Just to see the mullets, perms, big red glasses, my micro machines, He-Man, transformers. To see my younger siblings, and laugh.

Funny fact, we all were looking through pictures one day recently, I saw a picture. I was a toddler. There was a lady I didn’t recognize right off, so I asked my dad. The worst person to ask, but I did, he goes oh I don’t recognize her. He recognized his parents but he wasn’t sure of the lady. It was my mom with a perm. It was like 1982-3. That ended with “wow Dad wow”. 🤣

Hey Tegan,

Thanks for the post! Forgot to comment yesterday so I’m doing it today instead, I’ve been busy concentrating on finding new distractions from life (being a trans teen going through the wrong puberty isn’t fun).

I thought the post was really cool though! I kind of want to do that with my camera roll (I don’t have WhatsApp because I hate social media and haven’t had a need for WhatsApp yet).

I too check the weather all the time! people who don’t live in Australia probably think it’s so warm all the time too but it’s not either. The crowded house song ‘four seasons in one day’ (which I’ve seen live) is written about melbourne (where I live). Melbourne (as you might know) will often give you rain, sun and everything in between on any given day. My mum loves Crowded house and Neil Finn so I grew up around both! every time we hear that song she likes to tell everyone it was written about melbourne! I shared the fact cause I agree with her, I think that’s pretty cool.

I too have been trying to get rid of stuff on my phone, more necessity than boredom as my phone keeps telling me it’s full. So I’ve been looking through some older stuff too.

By the way, Am I the only one who now has a crowded house song in my head?

Excited for the graphic novel, a little nervous I’ll admit about the level of reading, but I plan to take it slow if I need to. Is there a ton of reading? I’ve never really read a graphic novel before?

If you got down my comment this far thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for what you said on my latest comment you responded to, I needed to hear that.

Also the ‘we’ve always been anxious LOL’ I used to sit up at night planning what I’d sprit around the house for in a fire. It would usually be most of my stuffed toys and my iPad (don’t judge me too harshly for that one, as an only child it became a source of comfort for me since I was young (just having something on in the background while I did other stuff. (I used to be lonely when I was younger, but that story’s for another time.)

Sorry if that was all a bit full on and all over the place.

What a great idea for a post. Backing up photos from a phone is always a lengthy job and mine is well overdue actually! I love that The Con X Tour was one of your favourites. Have done a fair few shows across a number of tours over the years now and The Con X Tour is probably my all-time fave. We made jackets, got tattoos, travelled all the way up the West Coast, experienced a train crash on route to one of the shows (not so much that part) and then worked the T&S Foundation table in Vancouver to finish. The shows were incredibly special and I honestly had the time of my life hearing such an iconic/important record come to life in its entirety again. Bonus points for it being a sit down tour too 😎 Would LOVE to see more shows like this. Hoping Sainthood gets the same treatment one day 🖤🤍🖤

Oh and us Brits are the same, we constantly talk about the weather, esp when there’s a vacation on the horizon - we want that ☀️🔥😆x

Oh my gosh this is amazing, the perfect kind of "random" for sharing. It would almost be amazing if Substack allowed comments with photos so we could all share one random photo from our galleries like this. A little "Where Does the Photo Go?" Trend, ha! Would be so fun to meet the Subbies that way. Love this true snapshot of life💜

Very cool!! Georgia is such a sweet, pretty pup. I love California. My younger sisters went with dad to California and my older siblings and I got stuck with mom in Minnesota. I’m such a California girl. Don’t ask me how I ended up staying in MN lol. Guess I made a life here and didn’t want to leave everything behind. But oh, LA.

I have so many random photos too. Like today I went to the zoo and I basically only took pictures of geese. And I saw a water bottle shaped like an alligator and it reminded me of the song "alligator". The other day I was outside my school and I saw a "19" spray painted on the grass (it reminded me of the song ""nineteen". (This is weird I'm telling you this considering your band made those songs) . The rest of my camera roll photos are pretty boring- just pictures of my art/crafts. It's funny you mentioned the palm springs weather because I was there in December a few years ago and everyone there was wearing puffer jackets when it was 60 degrees and raining and I thought it was funny Because as someone from Idaho it didn't seem cold at all.

Hate to break it to you but in case of an accident those stuffies are going right through the windshield. Upper body restraint is definitely needed for protection.
