Talking about bridges, I can't believe you left out the bridge (or the last part) of "You Wouldn't Like Me" in Still Jealous :C That's one of my favorite songs and that last part is my favorite part, and as I was listening to it, I was waiting for that exciting moment, and nothing hahaha gone... :/
The back and forth banter between you two during your shows has always made me laugh. It may, possibly, be even funnier to see it in text. I have been a long time fan and love all your albums, but I will say Heartthrob has seen the most plays on my iTunes. I remember when I first listened, and I thought, "Woah. This is NOT like The Con or Sainthood. This is so different, but also still very much them." I also enjoyed bragging to others (as if I knew you???) like, MY favorite artists can do different things with their brand, and they still kick ass. It's hard to pick a favorite song from this album, but Closer is at the top of the list. I can tell you from personal experience singing this in my car that nothing about this song or album felt "energetically stuck."
Guys, could somebody help me? This Closer version is AMAZING. Sara mentioned Warehouse March 2021....is there any way to get access to those concert? Youtube, whatever. Cannot find anything
Gah, this whole album saved me during a really formative period while I was in college and figuring out that I am bisexual. I can't pick just one song because they all resonate with me, but Shock to Your System hit me on a spiritual level. Thank you, Sara. My only tattoo so far is Who gave you reason? in my own handwriting. Who gave me reason to do the things I do? And who gave me reason to feel how I'm feeling? It reminds me that I am powerless over everything in life except myself. And that my depression does not define me.
Gosh, it was 8+yrs ago when I watched you in Shanghai! Hope you still remember that time in China. I couldn’t get over you until a week after, or 2, or never hahaha, and til now I still remember Tegan’s dance moves on Heartthrob’s songs, lol. I was so thrilled watching you live (the only time). Hope you’ll get back on tour soon and consider Dubai, too next ;)
the FYI about sex in LTRs is sending me. I love the idea of annotations of each other’s songs but even more than that I LOVE the counter-annotations from the other person.

Just joined, and am just about to finish High School, and this is my first comment so please bear with me while I geek out. At only a year ahead of you both, and being from Calgary (still) as well as seemingly having a lot in common with your mom makes me feel (unreasonably) close to you, so I can’t overstate how fucking cool it is to read this and feel like I’m more ‘in the know’ than others. Thank you so much for sharing things like this- you’re hilarious and your stuff is so much fun to read. It's so interesting knowing how a song started and seeing the different stages it goes through before it becomes the final verison.
