Thank you so much for touring. Selfishly, it’s the best part of *my* day (month, year, life.)

Stars they are just like us, eh? Thank you for this, Tegan, I feel right now what you felt 5 years ago and it put a lot of things into perspective for me. Especially when you said "what did we really lose if we gained so much else?" hopefully this will help me move on from this place I'm at where I feel stuck. I'm so happy to hear that you don't feel that way anymore and I hope that this tour treats you well. We appreciate what you do immensely and I certainly don't take it for granted ❤️

glad you have gotten your rest AND glad, selfishly, to see that the con x was one of your favorite tours, because i got to go to one of those shows and it was definitely my favorite part of that day!

On a very selfish note, seeing you play live on a U.K. tour is the best part of my life after having Charlie. Not just because I get to see you both but also all my chosen family I have found along the way. I understand the burned out feeling and I would totally respect your decision if you decided never to tour again. Of course I would be sad and become a crybaby but your health, happiness and mental wellbeing have always been more important to me than shows. The fact that I have heard you sing live, met you both and your mom. I saw you play The Con live in it’s entirety which was life changing! Thank you for all you put yourselves through for us, love you both so much. ❤️❤️❤️

Yes, if you both decide to not tour anymore, it would suck for us fans, BUT...we know y'all are humans after all with other commitments now and what's important ultimately is your health and well-being, so as long as you're happy and fulfilled with however you choose to spend your time, what more can we ask? As you mentioned, there are so many other avenues/outlets now, so that's quite exciting, I'm sure. I hope there'll be a 2nd season of "High School". We must know what happens next (even if we have read and heard the memoir multiple times)! =)

I watched you guys on jimmy Fallon (I probably watched it 6 or 7 times , it sounds SO GOOD). I can't grow up is one one of my favorite tegan and Sara songs. I also watched a bunch of videos people uploaded from the Philly concert. I loved hearing my favorites. I've spent hours watching old tegan and Sara concert content so it's cool to see the new ones. I know the fans are going to enjoy the tour and I know I'm going to have so much fun at the concert, but I hope for you guys that you also have fun and no major issues occur. ALSO, sort of unrelated but I finished watching ''high school'' (I cried). So good. I hope it gets a second season. It really does a good job on showing what falling for your best friend Is like (unfortunately, my best friend feels/has felt the same way but has a boyfriend 💀). Anyways, It's kinda funny (or sad?) That I've cried over your music, book, and now the show. Anyways super excited for what's to come!!

Thanks for this post Tegan, yeah feeling like your trapped in a cycle like that must be really terrible and I’m just glad you were finally able to stop and rest and just do something else before it got worse. I may not know what it’s like to feel trapped in a cycle, but I do know what it’s like to feel stuck and unsure. I’m so happy that you don’t feel this way anymore and that the last five years have helped you so much with that.

Thank you so much for touring so much over the years, it’s meant so much to so many, I’m sure.

Of course I really hope you do love this tour and it makes you both happy. But if it doesn’t, although I’ve never seen you live yet, if this is your last tour, then so be it, your mental health and happiness means so much more to all of us and always comes first! ❤️

PS I watched you on Jimmy Fallon last night, you were brilliant. 🙂

Also "what did we really lose if we gained so much else?" Ooof I felt that.

I love how honest this is. You’re the best. Sara is the best. Keep doing what feels right to you and be empowered to stop when it doesn’t anymore. I will say, I’m incredibly happy to have been at the Philly show VIP. That was one of the best nights of my life. THANK YOU

I can’t imagine how exhausting it must be to tour. Just remember that it is not done in vain. What you may not see or feel from the audience, the audience feels your electricity and takes in the energy that comes from you. Please don’t underestimate the power that you have over us during your performances. It means more than you know and I hope that the audience can give you some of that power back to energize you. You both are dynamic and we feel it, even if you don’t. I’m so glad that you are happier on stage now. It shows! Thank you for sharing your talent!

Hi Tegan,

Jeez! I have so much to say!

I’ll address your actual post on here first! Cool post! Glad you both had a needed and well deserved break from touring! Also I feel like you were calling me out when you said you talk to people on your social media and mentioned Australia! So I’ll say this, while it would suck if I can’t see you next year cause you can’t make it to Aus, I’ll understand, it’s not like Australia and Canada are very close together! Having said that I would still be over joyed to see you next year and even if not next year I need to see you on tour at some point (even if I have to save up and fly to Canada!

I just watch the live you did with Clea, (I missed it cause I stayed up late watching high school and forgot to check my social media). As for Railey having never seen a concert, I’ve been going to them since I was 0. (I don’t remember a lot of them, but I can’t believe that she hasn’t seen one). As for high school, well it’s fucking awesome, I’m never doing acid though, jeez! The cliffhanger!!!! (Spoilers in the next bit). ‘Sara’ comes off as kind of an asshole, (at the end), I get that Phoebe’s leaving but come on! (I put quotation marks because I don’t see them as you two, I see book you as you.)

Crybaby is also fucking awesome! I finally heard all of it yesterday (cause of what I explained last time). I looooove it! Can’t wait to buy all the merch, good timing, now I can get my parents to pay for half to give me for my birthday/Christmas (a bonus of my birthday and Christmas being 6 days apart!)

I also have exciting news of my own, which I mentioned on Sara’s latest post! I’m getting a dog next year! I’m becoming a dog parent! The dog’ll be my responsibility and my dog, not my parents dog. On a related note, I’m also moving into the garage because my mum’s allergic to dogs so me and the dog will be living in the garage together! Any advice for me Tegan? (I’m not getting a puppy by the way).

Thanks for all the awesome stuff! Saw a vid of part of your first concert back! It looked awesome! I love the crybaby ice cream behind you!

You should name the dog tegan (jk?)

I did think about it! But I’m getting a rescue dog and the name has to sound similar to whatever the dog’s name originally was, if I want to change it, so I don’t get much choice.

This is such a beautiful and heartfelt piece, Tegan. Breaking the routine is hard, because it’s like you’re trying to get out of your comfort zone and you have no idea how or if you could. But also, routine is comfortable, nice, and leads to an end result even if it isn’t our favorite part of the day. I feel the same way about teaching. It’s not my favorite thing ever, but it’s what gives me money. I try occupy myself with other creative projects that my major allows me to take, but I end up missing teaching and feeling afraid that I won’t have anything to do on summer break or if I quit it.

I can’t imagine how draining touring is, thanks for sharing your insight on this - it’ll make me appreciate the show at 930 club this weekend that much more!!!❤️❤️

i watched jamie's videos of the first philly show on youtube last night and it brought such a smile to my face to see y'all on stage again. it's been so exciting as a fan to follow all the new projects, and your show feels so fresh and rejuvenated. as much as i would selfishly love to get to go to a tegan and sara show once a year, it's not fun if the artists are totally burnt out and not into it. i haven't felt this at your shows, but i have been to shows where it felt like the artists were just mechanically going through the motions and it's a bummer!
