Hey Tegan (and Sara, I think?)
Love the βshare this post with someone who can give Tegan some song writing tipsβ.
I have to admit I saw the title of the post/email and thought βitβs about closer, because of the 10 year anniversaryβ. Would love a post about heartthrob, all the songs on it and maybe even some heartthrob acoustics?
Tegan, (As I told Sara), my new dog Grover is settling in well (all things considered), heβs mostly lab (and a forth golden retriever) so naturally he eats everything and what he doesnβt eat he licks! Whatever pants Iβm wearing get covered in slobber and everything Iβm wearing is coverde in black dog fur! As of yesterday Iβve had him 2 weeks and I love him to pieces (despite everything listed above).
Anyway, it was a good and sort of funny post, it wouldβve been very funny if it wasnβt as relatable! I get the procrastination, (I mean who doesnβt), I used to be good at not procrastinating and then I became a teenager!
Also whatβs this about not writing hit songs? You have! Both of you have! (And are Iβm assuming, you have loads of time, but I remember you (Tegan) saying that you wrote stop desire around the same time you were touring for heartthrob (or near the end).

"period of exemption from work."
Anyway, they (Shakespeare I think) say "journeys end in lovers meeting," so the only conclusion here is that in order to end a hit-writing journey successfully you should probably just have lunch with Sofia.
It's not more procrastination if it's what Shakespeare told you to do.

But yeah, setting aside time to do something productive or creative things is always tricky. And I think this is definitely me in this situation too, the pressure Iβd put on myself would be too much and I would end up watching TV.
I guess I could totally write a hit then.

We pray for the day we will be able to take a week out just for writing songs. Do not remember the last time that happened if ever.
Meanwhile in our songs box we have hundreds to be finished but no real time to do it.
Still we are totally committed to start this one-a-month song release schedule...
