The demo is pretty close to the final version. Everything was already there. You seem more angry on the album one though , it was probably suggested by Mickey.

I love how the instrumentation drops out on the bridge (and on the final version, the first verse) to put the bass front and center. Also the Peter Hook influence. (Now I'm going to look up Dehd, which IIRC Sara also cited as an influence on her bass playing.) Any plans for S to play bass on this song live?
This is a great treat! Love listening to stories of the songwriting process, demos and growing together. It always gives me encouragement especially when I get stuck with stuff in life and writing lyrics.
I turned to Tegan and your writings on Substack and songs when I had to come up with a bilingual song in Feb this year. I usually write Chinese lyrics hence English lyrics are tough for me. I went through T&S songs to learn how to write English lyrics. The previous lyrics explanations helped a lot too. I managed to deliver the lyrics just in time in the end 😉
