Hey Tegan,

Thanks for posting! Apologies for replying a day later than usual, had a busy few days.

Sara, if you’re reading this, I actually liked your response to my question on the zoom (about the tattoos). As I mentioned when I was talking about fanatical I actually have more respect for people who set boundaries with their fans (by ‘people’ in this case I mean YouTubers, artists, etc), my expression was realising that it was my question you were reading, I was not offended. (Don’t know if you cared whether I minded, but under the assumption that you do, I thought I’d clarify). I think it’s ridiculous when people dislike when famous people/public figures set boundaries with fans, I think it’s healthy for them (you) and it’s good to see people modelling self care behaviours.

One of the questions, Tegan, that you answered you mentioned wanting to do another pop song but also an acoustic one, I think both of you have amazing acoustic abilities and love hearing you transform your pop songs (like LY2D and Heartthrob songs) as acoustics, so I think u could definitely do both.

I’m also really sad that the whole fanatical/Fegan thing happened to you and all the other victims. (I just wanted to mention it, because I’m not ignoring it I actually wasn’t sure if u wanted to keep talking about it after the film came out and was trying to be respectful). I’m glad that you and the other victims who were in it decided to come forward and share your experience with this. It’s very brave. I also like how much of a cautionary it is to be careful on the internet. I think it’s always good to have a reminder that the internet can be dangerous, lots of my generation don’t take that part seriously enough.

Again, I will read crush once I have it. I think it’s a birthday present (so coming to me next month) if not I will order it. Looking forward to reading it.

Also as usual I’m listening to this in halves so I might add to my comment tomorrow when I listen to the other half.

Adding to my comment now. For me with music I like to know (or try to work out) the meaning of the song for the artist/person who wrote it, because it helps me feel more comfortable attaching my own meanings.

And I agree, you are doing a lot and we don’t expect you to do everything all the time. The true fans will support you to take a brake.

I’d love another album! But I also think you should do what feels right for both of you too. As long as you aren’t permanently stopping doing music all together, brake’s are great.

Also apologies if I haven’t been super coherent (especially for this half) I’m super tired and lethargic because it’s very hot here at the moment! (Remember, in Aus we are heading into summer, unfortunately). (It’s also extra hard for me because I’m an AFAB waiting to get top surgery (hopefully next year because I have to be 18), but will have to ride this summer out first)

Thanks for sharing with us Tegan! (It was a welcome distraction).

PS: I love listening to you and Sara read, I find both of your reading voices very soothing. As someone who listens to a lot of audiobooks I could see either or both of you reading other people’s audiobooks and excelling at it.

Thanks for taking time of your day to answer everyone’s questions especially in voice note form. I can listen to you talk forever, I just love your voice. And Sonia has the same soothing voice. I loved listening to her talk at both of the events she moderated.

I’m already looking forward to future book tours. Especially the adult book. The Karen story you told in Vancouver and LA still tops it for me. And all of Sara’s one liners throughout the tour. 😂 You guys are fucking hilarious! Take my money already.

This was great, Tegan. So excited for your forthcoming books! Also happy to hear you will absolutely do more things like the Not Tonight Tour again in the future. It was so special and fun 🧡

Your thoughts about balancing and boundaries about what to share; wise words. Im always reevaluating that myself. I’m in a bit of a reclusive phase right now, being quietly creative without feeling the need to share all of it.

When you said REM I had some vivid memories of buying Out of Time with my saved allowance. Oh and Live! And singing Ace of Base with my friends during 4th grade recess. Garbage reminds me of my first year of middle school. So many memories unlocked.

I love you guys and just found out about your books! That's so amazing! I have 2 tween girls 10&13 and I'm excited to order these for them!

Also embarrassingly random question… the “hungry” post from like a year ago?🤦🏽‍♀️(yeah my 13 y/o would kill me if she knew I did that… or admitted to it lol) anyhoo… in the photo, did the purple plate have a blue duck with an umbrella? I’m pretty sure that I had the same one as a kid. It was either my moms as a child or possibly even my grandmother’s. Either way it's antique. No idea if its worth anything but you should look into it!

I know Teeg was mostly writing here, but as a CSE survivor and child trauma educator, I just really wanted to commend and thank Sara for not sharing Sid online more than she does. Even if you guys hadn't had the experience with Fegan, it's still a really important issue, and one I think you guys strike the safest balance with. Because, unfortunately, bc OF your popularity, obsessives WILL go out of their way to see your children. (Not just well-meaning women with no boundaries on the street, lol.) So, counterintuitively, you almost have to show *something* or those folks will go muchhhh farther trying to get a peek at something ~exclusive~ and "never-before-seen " yet. Like, to dangerous extremes.

Including Sid in your life experiences, photos, and the ways he impacts or changed both of your lives, removes any "hide him at all costs" effort that some high-profile folks take......which actually keeps him safer. But, you then still protect his facial identity, which is not only imperative for issues of consent but his own identity development, future school, being recognized on the street, etc, etc.. So, yeah, bc I know this is a really difficult issue to navigate as a public person and parent, I just wanted to validate that you're doing a great job (esp as a survivor and educator in this space)! <3

P.S. Thank yall for answering my questions on stream the other night hahah I swear I thought your team might just pluck ONE out for yall in advance, or I woulda just sent one. Not, like, four. Pffft. That's such a me-coded thing to get so wrong ahahaha *facepalm*
