Tegan, I've noticed that you often use my name at Starbucks or when placing food orders over the phone. Truthfully, I've never really used your name for anything until a recent trip to New York City. I attended The Gotham Awards solo, representing "Tegan and Sara" without you, not for the first time, but it was the first instance I can remember where I was asked to walk the red carpet entirely alone. Approaching the carpet, I mentioned to our publicist that I felt somewhat insecure as my name ("Sara Quin") was far less recognized than yours. So, when the woman with a whiteboard asked for my name, I spontaneously said, “Tegan Quin.” She flashed your name to the photographers, and with a grin, I stepped onto the carpet. For the next two minutes, I relished the absurdity of committing my first twin fraud.
Imagine if you had won, you could have said anything up there and everyone (unfamiliar with you) would think it was Tegan 😂 I will echo some of the comments and ask about season 2, any news?
My twin and I have committed many acts of twin fraud... ranging from innocuously standing in for the other when a person mistakes us for the other (to spare them the embarrassment) to intentionally using the others drivers license when pulled over. Hopefully Tegan doesn’t try to do that anytime soon 😜
I have been waiting with baited breath to see if High School gets renewed, I hope it is, I absolutely loved it! Also, the versions of the songs included in your Audible Words + Music episode are gorgeous, especially walking With a Ghost. I would devour a book, or books, or whatever other episodic format there may be, following your career.

I’m going to try to keep this short as it’s an obscene hour in the am and i’m not asleep yet.
I remember watching a video of you two talking on stage during the con x tour about how Tegan uses your name at Starbucks. It makes sense ‘Tegan’ is harder to spell/get right/remember than Sara, which is I assume why you chose to give Tegan’s name instead of yours. I’m not a twin, so I can’t give a personal experience on this. I did have a friend who looked quite a bit like me when we were younger, it helped that we were both blonde with glasses, anyway, we used to get mistaken for identical twins, it was kind of strange, funny, but strange.
I’ve tried to imagine what it’s like for society to see you as interchangeable with someone just because you look alike (as you’ve both previously described it feeling like), I worry about what ‘society’ thinks about me all the time as a member of the trans community, but until you guys brought it up I hadn’t thought of it in a twin context. It would obviously suck, but maybe after a while it might be fun to fuck with people? (Again, I wouldn’t know).

In college, I met my friend Stella because people kept mistaking us for each other. She was explaining our twin-induced friendship while riding with another friend when she heard someone yell out "GRAAAAACE!!!!" Then she turned to her friend and said, "See?! It happens even in a moving car!" I guess I'm sharing this because it sorta fits your title (Twin Fraud). p.s. You looked extra drippy in your suit. p.p.s. Manifesting a season two of High School everyday. 🕯🤞🙏🏼
